Segeltrip in Coron

Als kleinen Vorgeschmack auf unseren geplanten vier tägigen Segeltrip entschliessen wir uns einen Bootsausflug mit einem der vielen Anbieter in Coron zu buchen. Da wir am Vorabend in der Bar von einem Reisenden erfahren haben, dass Barracudalake ein absoluter Hotspot ist, haben wir uns für die Super Ultimate Tour entschieden. Diese beinhaltet nicht weniger als acht Spots mit verschiedenen Attraktionen. Wir erleben einzigartige und gut erhaltene Korallenriffe (obwohl alle Touren dort die Touristen aussetzten!), Wracks, Lagunen wie aus dem Prospekt, Süsswasserseen und natürlich Barracudalake. Das ist ein Salzwassersee, den wir über einige Treppen erreichen, die über eine Felsformation führen und dahinter einen wunderschönen Anblick bieten. Der Name stammt angeblich von einem grossen Barrakudaskelett, das auf dem Grund gefunden wurde. Die schroffen Felsformationen, die neben uns bis auf etwa 20 Meter senkrecht abfallen, bieten einen einzigartigen Anblick. Das einfallende Sonnenlicht lässt das Gestein mystisch erscheinen und das glasklare Wasser enthüllt einen Einblick in die Tiefe. Trotz der Schwimmwesten-Pflicht hinterlässt der Bade- und Schnorcheltag einige Spuren auf unseren Rücken, die hoffentlich bald nicht mehr im Dunkeln rot leuchten werden.

Tags darauf startet unser Segeltour in einer kleinen Bucht nördlich von Coron. David uns Steffanie empfangen uns herzlich mit der typische philippinisch offenen Art auf ihrem schwimmenden Zuhause. David ist ursprünglich aus Deutschland, lebt aber seit einigen Jahren in den Philippinen auf seinem Boot. Steffanie, die selber aus den Philippinen stammt, begleitet ihn bei seinen Abenteuer auf See. Das Schiff ist ein 31 Fuss (9.45m) grosser Katamaran mit zwei gemütlichen Schlafkabinen. Steffanie gibt uns sofort einen kurzen Überblick und David legt sogleich ab, damit wir rasch an unseren ersten Stopp kommen, der lediglich einige Meilen vor der Bucht liegt.

Steffanie erklärt uns, wie die nächsten Tag ablaufen werden und dass alle Arbeiten und Aktivitäten an Deck ablaufen. Die Koje ist lediglich zum Schlafen und Deponieren unseres Gepäcks gedacht. Natürlich können wir aber nach belieben auch im Freien schlafen (vorne im Netz).
Die Kochstelle, wie auch die Vorräte, befinden sich in fest installierten Boxen, die ebenfalls auch als Sitze in der Schiffsmitte dienen. Wir bemerken sofort, dass dieser Ausflug ein wahres Abenteuer wird und wir uns auf eine Art Camping auf dem Wasser eingelassen haben. Mit voller Vorfreude sind wir gespannt auf die nächsten Insehlhopping-Tage
Die Wettervorhersage lässt leider etwas zu wünschen übrig, denn zum Segeln benötigen wir Wind, der mehr als nur spärlich für die nächsten Tage angesagt ist. Trotzdem soll sich später zeigen, dass wir einige Stunden unter Segel, wenn auch bei wenig Wind, vorankommen.

Die Zeit auf dem Schiff vergeht wie im Flug. Wir fahren entlang von grün bewachsenen Inseln jeder Grösse und halten an Orten, die kaum von Touristen erreicht werden. Besonders bei der Insel Lusong ist das Korallenriff atemberaubend und völlig intakt. Wir entdecken sogar eine Seeschlange, die sich gemütlich durchs Riff schlängelt. Auch an den anderen Spots schnorcheln wir in den buntesten Riffen und geniessen Sandstrände ohne jede menschliche Spur im Sand.

Ein Erlebnis in bester Gesellschaft und mit fabelhaft gutem Essen, dass unsere beiden Schiffseigner immer frisch zubereiten. Auf dem Speiseplan stehen viele Früchte, Gemüse sowie weitere lokale Produkte, die Steffanie, die in den Philippinen eine Kochausbildung gemacht hat, raffiniert zubereitet.

Unser letzter Tag auf See beginnt früh, denn wir wollen eine der äussersten Inseln in der Region ansteuern. Black Island taucht, wie der Name bereits verrät, in einem dunklen Gewand vor uns auf. Je näher wir jedoch kommen, bestaunen wir den wunderschönen Sandstrand und die dahinterliegenden dunklen und trotzdem grün bewachsenen Felsen. Vor dem Strand liegen zwei Wracks, die für geübte Freitaucher in Reichweite liegen. Eines davon ist jedoch bereits sehr verstreut und nicht mehr als ganzes Schiff zu identifizieren.
Einige Stunden geniessen wir den Anblick, baden, schnorcheln, erkunden und träumen. Von diesen irrsinnigen grün- und blautönen des Wassers können wir uns kaum sattsehen. Doch David gibt uns irgendwann zu verstehen, dass es langsam Zeit wird, die Segel zu hissen, damit wir unser Endziel noch bei Tageslicht erreichen.

Steffanie und David haben uns bereits vor der Reise ein Hotel in der Region empfohlen, damit wir nach der Rückkehr nicht weit reisen müssen. Die beiden laden hier alle ihre Gäste zu einem romantischen Dinner am Pool ein, um dem Abenteuer einen angemessenen Abschluss zu versehen. So ist es auch bei uns. Es ist aber sofort klar, dass wir das Essen unbedingt mit ihnen zusammen geniessen wollen. So endet ein hammer Abschnitt unserer Reise im Hotel, auf einem Hügel, vor dem Pool, in amüsanter Gesellschaft mit kühlem Bier.
