Das Inselparadies in unserem Rücken fahren wir mit einem kleinen Boot und den beide jungen Schiffsführern zurück nach Sablayan. Der Motor unter dem Sitz des Steuermanns ist laut und erschwert jegliche Kommunikation. Mit Handzeichen deutet der Eine jedoch an, ein Foto mit uns machen zu wolle. Anscheinend sind wir genau so eine Attraktion für sie, wie sie für uns.
Mit dem Bus fahren wir dann zwei Stunden durch vorwiegend Reisfelder. Aber ach Mais, Bananen und weitere Gemüse sowie Früchte können wir erkennen. Wie in den Busen üblich, läuft Musik für alle, dies es hören möchten und für die anderen natürlich auch. Sichtlich fällt es den Einheimischen schwer, bei dem Lärm einzuschlafen. Jeder räkelt sich auf seinem Platz und sucht nach einer geeigneten Position, um die nächsten Stunden in einen Traum zu versinken. Ganz anders als wir, denn wir sind mitten im Traum. All die Eindrücke und Entdeckungen, die an unserem Fenster vorbeirasen, können kaum festgehalten werden.
In San Jose angekommen beziehen wir unser Zimmer und bereiten uns auf den nächsten Tag vor. Wir bleiben nur eine Nacht hier, denn die Fähre nach Coron fährt bereits früh los. Obschon wir unser Ticket bereits online gekauft haben, bringt uns der ältere Tricylefahrer zum Ticketstand, der noch einige Minuten von der Fähre entfernt ist. Erst hier erhalten wir die Bordkarten und den entsprechenden Platz zugewiesen. Anscheinend erhielten wir gute Plätze durch unsere frühe Buchung, denn wir werden direkt zu zwei mittig aufgestellten Betten begleitet. Die etwas abgenutzten Ligen sind die nächsten Stunden unser gemütliches Reisequartier.
Mit an Bord direkt in der Liege unter uns sind einige Kücken in einer Box. Einige der Familien quetschen sich zu dritt auf die kleinen Betten. Im Frachtraum werden Tiere, Gemüse und alles Mögliche mitgeführt. Der Boardservice ist ebenfalls ganz akzeptabel. Zu Mittag wird Poulet und Reis zubereitet und jeder kann mehr als genug bei der Küchentruppe abholen. Wir fragen uns, ob es sich um ganz frisches Chicken aus dem Frachtraum handelt?
Das Meer zeigt sich von seiner besten Seite. Nur wenig Wellen und mit Rückenwind vergeht die Überfahrt wie im Flug. Hoffentlich bleiben die Bedienungen in den nächsten Tage so bestehen. Das käme unseren Plänen ganz entgegen.
Nach geschlagenen sieben Stunden erreichen wir Coron, das zur Provinz Palawan gehört. Ein kleines Dorf, in dem wir das erste Mal das Gefühl haben, nicht die einzigen nicht-asiatischen Touristen zu sein. Neben den geschäftigen Einheimischen tummeln sich viele Australier, Europäer und andere Reisende aus aller Welt um hier die wunderschöne Inselwelt zu erkunden.
